Week 3 SEC Pick'em

He's back, and im cashing in...
Alright, I have accepted it. Alabama is really good. If they continue to dominate, and they look like they will, I am at least going to cash in on it. Last weeks blasting of Penn State paid off nicely and there is no reason for to think another payday wont be coming this week against Duke. I still think LSU will hand Bama its only loss of the season when they travel to Baton Rouge this year, but until than, my bank account will continue to ride the tide.

So without further ado, here are the SEC picks for week 3. As always, leave your own picks in the comment section below:

Arkansas @ Georgia -2.5

Woo Pig! Ryan Mallet looked sharp last week against ULM although his recieving corps did not. Aside from Greg Childs catching fire in the second half, the rest of the crew had a case of the droppsies. Arkansas has the fire power to put 30 on anybody and even though Georgia's suprisingly strong defense has a chance to slow them down, their stagnant offense wont be able to keep them in the game. Arkansas edges this one out by a touchdown.

The Pick: The Hogs

Vanderbilt @ Ole Miss -12

Still not a fan of Ole Miss, who have found life with Masoli to be difficult. If they were playing anybody else I may be tempted to choose them to cover, but Vanderbilt is awful and this one is in Oxford. The crowd, and team, are still seeing red after the double OT loss to Jacksonville ST, and Vandy looks to be the perfect sized punching bag. Ole Miss finally gets on track and wins this one handidly.

The Pick: The Ole Miss Admiral Ackbars

Alabama @ Duke +23.5

I cant imagine any scenario where Alabama does not blow this game wide open. They will certainly win, its just a matter of by how much. My guess is that they will pound the ball with Mark Ingram, tyring to get him back into game shape, and build a sizable lead in the first half. From there, the Alabama backups are still way better than the Duke starters. What worries me is that Saban tends to sit on leads by running the ball and thus not running up the score. Im banking on the fact that Duke wont be able to stop the ball, even when Alabama is trying to run out the clock.

The Pick: Alabama

Forida @ Tennessee +14

Tennessee made me look like a fool with my pants on the ground last week and I'm damn well not going to get suckered into picking them again this week. However, Florida hasnt looked sharp so far and they will be traveling to Knoxville without thier star playmaker Will Demps. UT showed me nothing last week, but 14 point spread!? Good lord, they are playing at home arent they? Still, there is no way im picking UT again after last weeks disaster. Gator Chomp beats Rocky Top this week and covers the spread.

The Pick: Florida

Clemson @ Auburn -7.5

The one thing we have learned in this young college football season is that the ACC blows. From Virginia Tech's loss to Boise St, Ohio St's thumping of Miami, and Oklahoma's stomping of FSU, it is a legitamte possibility that the conference goes 0'fer against non conference opponents. (Which does not bode well for LSU that UNC, a fringe ACC contender, nearly pulled out a victory despite missing 12 starters.) Anyways im confident that Auburn can blow Clemson out of the water. I like Cam Newton and I dont like the ACC. Auburn is the pick in a route.

The Pick: Auburn

Miss St @ LSU -7.5

No way we dont blow out Miss St in the home opener in Death Valley on a Saturday night. Right?...........Right?

The Pick: Bayou Bengals

Furman @ USC (even)

No line posted yet. Would gamble my first born child if this line stayed even.

Akron @ Kentucky -25

Whats with Kentucky playing such a cupcake schedule? First Louiville followed by Western Kentucky and now Akron. I say this hurts them karmatically and they fail to cover against Akron......mmmm. Cupcakes.

The Pick: Akron

SEC Pick Results after one week:

Lance: 6
