Your 2011 LSU Tiger's Starting Quarterback

Ok Tiger fans, Jordan Jefferson sucks. We know. He might go down in LSU history as the Quarterback who wasted one of the most talented team's in LSU history. With the Defense and Special Teams playing at extremely high levels, LSU appears to be a Quarterback away fom contending for a National Championship. Unfortunately for Les Miles, and Tiger Nation, this year's roster offers only one other option at the Quarterback position, senior Jarret Lee.

So who can the Tigers bring in off the recruiting trail to make sure this situation dosen't happen again in 2011?

Zack Mettenberger.

Former Georgia Bulldog, currently the number one ranked recruit on the JUCO circuit. Formerly offered a scholarship by Les Miles and set to visit Baton Rouge on November 20th.

Mettenberger was the 11th ranked "pro-style" quarterback out of high school in a class that included Matt Barkley, Garret Gilbert and his former Georgia teammate Aaron Murray.

As a lifelong Bulldogs fan, he attended the University for one year before being dismissed by Head Coach Mark Richt for an incident that involved girls, underage drinking and a fake ID.

(Pause for cringing flashbacks of Ryan Perroiloux...)

He was known on the Athens campus for both his arm, which reportedly was on par with former Bulldog and number one draft selection Matt Stafford, and his "cocky" attitude, which eventually assisted in his dismissal from the team.

At this point in Les Miles tenure it may be worth a gamble on Mettenberger. If the maturity issues, which have not been an issue since his freshman semester, can be chalked up to young age, LSU could offer the JUCO transfer a return to the SEC and a chance to start immediately.

And with guys like Russel Shepard, Reuben Randle and Steven Ridley to help make big plays, he has a chance to step in and do what Jordan Jefferson has already proven he can not.

Return the offense to an elite level of play, and contend for a National Championship.

The last thing the tigers need is to center their offense around a cocky prick, it'll just cause problems with the other 20-30 cocky pricks that dot the sideline.
