Giants Win the Pennant: Goodbye Bay Area Playoff Drought!!!

The San Francisco Giants have ended the Bay Area playoff drought with a victory over the San Diego Padres in the final game of the season.

Not counting the Sharks, the last time a Bay Area team appeared in a postseason was the infamous "We Believe" Warriors of 2007.
The Gigantes, who have not seen the playoffs since 2003, open up their series against the Braves on Thursday in San Francisco, with ace Tim Lincecum taking the hill.
If the pitching staff continues to pitch as they have all September, this series SHOULD favor the Giants, as the Braves have struggled against quality pitching all season.
