Week 4 NFL Pick'em

Week 4 picks are up, but before we get to them, lets take a quick-mini-tangent. Watching Aaron Rodgers flourish, while Alex Smith struggles has got me thinking, is it really that hard to draft an NFL Quarterback?

The way I look at it, if your going to pick a QB in the first round he must possess all of the following three characteristics:

Moxy/Charisma, Accuracy and a High IQ.

With these factors in mind, consider the difference between, Jamarcus Russel, Alex Smith, Matt Leinart and Matt Ryan, Mark Sanchez and Sam Bradford. Which three QB's meet all the criteria and which three don't.

Case. Point.

As for this upcoming draft, in my mind it is simple; Andrew Luck, Kellen Moore, draft, Ryan Mallet, Jake Locker, stay away.

Broncos @ Titans -6.5

I'm taking the Titans, who are at home and facing a team that has trouble stopping the run. While the Broncos statsin that department are solid, they haven't faced a team with a reliable runner yet; Jags without MOJO, Seahawks and the Colts. I expect a big day for Chris Johnson against a week linebacking core, and also for Vince Young, who will enjoy the comforts of his home stadium.

The Pick: Titans

Jets @ Bills +5.5

Ohh Mark Sanchez has looked good. But I think he takes a step back on the road against a surprisingly stingy Bills defense. The Jets are on a roller coaster right now, and the high's of the Sunday night win at Miami are about to wear off up North against the Bills. Not saying the Jets will lose, but the Bills will keep it close.

The Pick: Bills

Bengals @ Browns +3

Peyton Hills has caught the attention of fantasy nerds, yet he is all the Browns will have offensively against a stingy Bengals secondary. The Browns secondary on the other hand, is one of the leagues worst, and could provide an opportunity for T.OCHO to get some face time on Sportscenter.

The Pick: Bengals

Ravens @ Steelers -1

The Steelers are playing great right now and have a chance at going 4-0 before they get Ben Roethlisberger back from suspension. Unfortunately, they have not faced a defense as tenacious as their own. At this point I think the Ravens are playing with more on the line, and a more complete team. Steeler's get complacent knowing that Big Ben is about to return, Ravens win.

The Pick: Ravens

Lions @ Packers -13.5

And just like that, the perfect season has ended. It was a good run Lions, but Adrian Peterson proved to be too much. Even Trains have to take pit stops from time to time. The Lions get back on the railroad track this week, and get another humongous line, which I will roll with straight into the bank. Choo Choo!!

The Pick: Lions to Cover

49ers @ Falcons -6.5

The real analysis; 49ers are a disaster and they are facing another early road game in a different time zone across the country. Yikes, this never spells good things for the 49ers. The fan analysis; Ewing theory, rally around the new coordinator upset pick. Falcons letdown after big win against Saints, Mike Johnson proves that he should have been the coordinator all along, offense gets opened up, Smith and Crabtree have big offensive games

The Pick: 49ers

Panthers @ Saints -13.5

That spread is just ridiculous. Panthers, can control the ball and at least keep it reasonable.

The Pick: Carolina

Seahawks @ Rams +1.5

Wow. Officially the "no one cares bowl." Ill take the Rams because I like Sam Bradford, and Seattle has had issues playing on the road.

The Pick: Rams

Colts @ Jaguars +7

I'm just getting lazy now. Jags because the Colts just cant cover them all.

The Pick: Jags

Texans @ Raiders +3

I like the Raiders to cover at home. They are showing some spunk with Gradkowsi at quarterback.

The Pick: Raiders

Redskins @ Eagles +5.5

The matchup of the week.  Eagles boo, McNabb gets redemption. The Redskins have already shown they can play inspired by beating their rival Cowboys in the season opener. I think they appreciate McNabb enough to play their hearts out for him. This game means more for the Skins than it does the Eagles, as they are also looking to avenge last weeks embarrassment in St Louis.

The Pick: Redskins

Cardinals @ Chargers -9

Chargers Slaughter.

Pick: Chargers

Bears @ Giants -3.5

I wish I could pick both teams to lose, but I want the Bears to lose just a little bit more. Im not buying the hype. Cutler is still the same careless quarterback he has always been, that offensive line is patched together with duct tape, and there are holes in the defensive front seven.

The Pick: Giants

Patriots @ Dolphins +1

Dolphins score another game in prime time. Deion would be jealous. And they deserve it too. Despite last weeks loss to the Jets, the Dolphins are on the rise right now, led by the fast developing Chad Henne, a stellar offensive line and a stingy defense, there is no reason not to like Miami. Plus, they are hosting an over the hill Patriots that not only has trouble stopping the Wildcat, but all other offenses as well. Dolphins in a mini-upset, that really shouldnt be an upset at all.

The Pick: Dolphins
