Thursday's Bay Area Buzz

  • Chris Quick at Bay City Ball talks NLCS with Crashburn Alley blogger Bill Baer, who believes the Phillies staff is better than the Giants, but also points out that the Phil's offense has been slightly overrated and frustratingly inconsistent.
  • Scott Van Pelt and Ryan Rusillo have taken a fascination to LSU and Head Coach Les Miles. If your now familiar with the show, both hosts, College Football fanatics, pick a college campus to visit each weekend. Van Pelt naturally picked Winsconsin-Madison, the location of College Gameday and the showdown between Winsconsin and Ohio St. Ryan Rusillo on the other hand? He choose to travel to Baton Rouge for LSU vs McNeese St. His reasoning behind it? He dosent want to miss a single second of Les Miles madness.
  • Here is the suprisingly interesting interview with Jarret Lee, who suprised my by actually sounding like he was a pretty cool dude.
  • Did Melp Kiper Jr. dupe the 49ers into drafting Kentwan Balmer?
  • SB Nation ranks the NBA's best and worst coaches. Where does Keith Smart rank? I'll give you a hint, not very highly.
  • Looks like Jonathon Sanchez will get the start in Game 2 over Matt Cain. Smart move by Bochy, as Cain's fly ball inducing ways will now start the home opener in game 3. The big question now is, who takes the ball if the series goes to a game 7? Lincecum on three days rest, Cain on 5 or Sanchez on 4?
