The 49ers offensive line has been having extreme difficulty stopping the one blitz in passing situations.
Sources of this problem could be one of three things. 1) A young offensive line that has not gelled from and execution and communication standpoint. 2) The coaching staff, or Alex Smith, not making proper adjustments at the line of scrimmage, or 3) Chilo Rachel being awful.
Regardless the root of the issue, Alex Smith will be in serious danger against the Pittsburgh Steelers, possibly the top zone blitzing team in the NFL and the 49ers will have a difficult time beating the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs if this issue is not addressed.
