Warriors Have a New Owner, And this one Speaks!!!

While I am still resentful of the Warriors failure to sell the team to the 6th richest man in the entire world, i must admit that i feel a little better after reading Tim Kawakami's 40 minute interview with new owner Joe Lacob.

It sounds like Lacob plans on doing things the right way, making smart decisions and taking calculated risks.

I still have visions of Ellison storming in like Ghangis Khan on a  three day bender, destroying every remnant of Chris Cohan's existence, and leaving Jerry West and David Griffith to rule the kingdom in his wake.

But as the wise Rafiki from the Lion King once said, "Hey, thats in the past."

And its true. The reality is that Larry Ellison did not win the bidding for the Warriors and our new owner is Joe Lacob. While it is a major disappointment for a fan like myself, one who has never seen my team land a big fish, interviews like the one Lacob had with Tim Kawakami may slowly change my opinion.

The three part transcription is a mandatory read and very insightful. It is clear that Lacob is a sharp dude and he already understands a lot of reality's about the NBA. He is a local guy, a basketball fan and plans on being a hands on and vocal leader of the franchise.

He emphasized holding the franchise accountable for its actions, something the previous ownership was never able to do, and developing a winning culture.

I wish him the best of luck and truly hope he turns around our beloved franchise, however, if there is one thing i learned from the previous ownership, it's that actions speak louder than words. While Lacob is certainly saying and doing all the right things, I personally am withholding judgment until i see improved play on the court.

Nonetheless, check out the link, form your opinions and leave me your thoughts on the comments sesctin below!
